Trump Confirms Plane Switch in Turkey After Secret Service Threat Alert
US President Donald Trump has confirmed that he switched aircraft during his recent Turkey trip after the Secret Service and US military warned him about a potential threat.
Trump said he did not seek many details about the security concern and chose to follow the advice of his protection team.
“I go by Secret Service and the military. They wanted me to go on a different flight, a different plane… I do what they say,” Trump told reporters after returning from Ohio.
He added that he believed a threat existed but said he did not ask for extensive information about it, noting that he receives numerous threats.
What Happened to Trump’s Plane in Turkey?
Trump’s comments came after reports highlighted a series of unexpected aircraft changes during his Turkey visit.

He had initially travelled aboard the Qatar-gifted Boeing 747-8 but reportedly moved to an older Air Force One aircraft following a security concern. The Washington Post later reported that Trump was discreetly moved from the aircraft in a catering container before being transferred to a smaller C-32A aircraft.
The White House had not initially provided a detailed public explanation for the reported aircraft changes.
Trump Says He Faces Many Threats
Trump said he trusts the Secret Service and military officials to make decisions about his security and does not always need to know the details behind their recommendations.
“I get a lot of threats,” Trump said.
He then linked the threats to his view of his own impact as president, saying that presidents who are not consequential do not attract the same level of threats.
“Non-consequential Presidents don’t get threatened, and I think I’m maybe the most consequential President,” Trump said.
