SBI, HDFC, ICICI Update Card Benefits as Airport Lounge Demand Surges.

Rising air travel has prompted leading card issuers—SBI Card, HDFC Bank, and ICICI Bank—to revise their debit and credit card benefits, particularly those related to airport lounge access. Changes also touch reward structures, spend thresholds, and certain fees, with updates rolling out on different dates in January 2026. Cardholders are advised to check the new terms to make the most of their travel perks.

ICICI Bank

From January 15, 2026, ICICI Bank has updated select credit cards, including revisions to rewards, benefits, and some transaction charges. Cardholders should review these changes, as they may impact reward accumulation, foreign currency spending, and entertainment privileges.

SBI Card

SBI Card has expanded its domestic airport lounge network effective January 10, 2026. Lounges are now grouped under Set A and Set B, with eligibility based on the specific card variant. Lounge access requires POS validation and applies to cards with annual fees of Rs 1,499 and Rs 2,999.

HDFC Bank

HDFC Bank has revised its debit card lounge programme from January 10, 2026. The spend requirement for complimentary access has been doubled, and a voucher-based system introduced to make access more streamlined and convenient for users.

With lounge access becoming an increasingly valued benefit for frequent flyers, reviewing eligibility, spending requirements, and access processes is essential before the next trip.
