Apple Posts Record June Quarter Results as India Becomes Key Growth Engine
Apple has delivered its best-ever June quarter, reporting $109.4 billion in revenue, a 16% year-on-year jump, as strong demand for iPhones, Macs and Services helped the company overcome supply chain pressures and global uncertainties.
The results were announced during Tim Cook’s final earnings call as Apple CEO, with the tech giant highlighting double-digit growth across major product categories and all geographic regions, including India. “Apple is proud to report our strongest June quarter ever, with double-digit revenue growth across iPhone, Mac and Services, and in every geographic segment,” Cook said during the earnings call.
India Records Strong Growth for Apple
India continued to emerge as one of Apple’s fastest-growing markets, with the company reporting a record June quarter in the country. Cook said Apple achieved revenue records across all major regions, including the US, Latin America, Western Europe, India, China mainland, Japan and Southeast Asia.
“We achieved June quarter revenue records in every geographic segment,” Cook said, adding that Apple saw strong performance across both developed and emerging markets. Apple CFO Kevan Parekh said the company’s installed base of active devices also reached a new all-time high across product categories and regions.
iPhone and Mac Drive Revenue Surge
Apple’s iPhone business remained the biggest revenue contributor, generating $54.2 billion, compared with $44.58 billion during the same period last year. Mac sales also saw significant growth, rising to $10.35 billion from $8.04 billion a year ago. The wearables, home and accessories category recorded $7.88 billion, while iPad revenue slipped slightly to $6.19 billion from $6.58 billion.
Mac emerged as a major growth driver, with revenue increasing 29% year-on-year to a new June quarter record, helped by strong demand for MacBook models in markets including India and Southeast Asia.
Supply Chain Pressure Clouds Outlook
Despite the strong performance, Apple warned of challenges ahead due to rising component costs, geopolitical tensions and supply constraints. Cook said demand for advanced semiconductor chips has exceeded expectations, creating pressure on supply.
“The advanced nodes SoCs that we need are supply constrained. The root cause is not a regular supply issue. It’s not a supplier relationship issue either. Instead, our demand forecast is too high,” Cook said. He added that limited supply chain flexibility could make the upcoming quarter more challenging.
India Growth Continues Despite Market Slowdown
Analysts said Apple’s performance in India reflects the country’s growing importance as both a consumer market and a manufacturing base. Tarun Pathak of Counterpoint Research said Apple has managed higher memory costs through inventory management and savings in other areas. He expects India to see single-digit volume growth but double-digit value growth for Apple in 2026.
However, rising component costs may lead to further price increases. Apple has already raised prices of Macs, iPads and other products in India, including a ₹10,000 hike for the MacBook Neo. Prabhu Ram of CyberMedia Research said India’s strong performance highlights its strategic importance for Apple.
“India stood out, posting strong double-digit growth and another June-quarter revenue record, underscoring its growing importance as both a key market and manufacturing hub,” he said.
Apple Gains Despite Weak Tech Market
Apple’s strong quarter comes at a time when the broader smartphone and PC markets are facing challenges. India’s smartphone shipments declined in the second quarter of 2026, while global PC shipments also recorded a drop. Despite the slowdown, Apple gained market share in the global PC segment, standing out among major computer manufacturers.
With record quarterly revenue, strong iPhone demand and continued expansion in India, Apple enters a new leadership era with significant momentum.
