Keir Starmer on Monday urged de-escalation in the Middle East after the United Arab Emirates reported fresh missile and drone attacks, the first since a truce was declared nearly a month ago.
Condemning the strikes, Starmer said the escalation “must cease” and called on Iran to engage meaningfully in talks to preserve the ceasefire and work towards a lasting diplomatic solution.
The UAE, a close ally of the United States and a key regional partner of Israel, said it came under a barrage of Iranian missiles and drones on Monday, raising renewed concerns over stability in the Gulf.
