Yoga Is the Pause Button Humanity Needs Amid Global Unrest: PM Modi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday called yoga a unifying force and a much-needed “pause button” for humanity as the world grapples with widespread conflict and instability.

Addressing the 11th International Day of Yoga celebrations in Visakhapatnam, PM Modi said, “Sarve bhavantu sukhinah (may all be happy) – this is the spirit we must embrace to build a peaceful society. As violence and unrest spread globally, yoga helps us pause, breathe, and find balance.”

Citing ongoing conflicts in West Asia and Europe, he said yoga dissolves the ego and transforms the mindset from “me” to “we,” promoting compassion and unity.

Highlighting this year’s theme, ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’, PM Modi said the concept underscores the interconnectedness of all life. “Yoga leads us to the realization that we are not isolated beings but part of a greater whole,” he noted.

He emphasized yoga’s universality, saying, “Whether it’s the Sydney Opera House, Mount Everest, or across the oceans, yoga knows no boundaries—it’s for everyone, regardless of background, age, or ability.”

PM Modi described yoga as a path to personal discipline, collective harmony, and global peace, urging people to embrace its message in these uncertain times.
