Australia Ready to Back India’s 2036 Olympic Ambition.

Australia has expressed readiness to support India’s push to host the 2036 Olympic Games, offering expertise in staging global sporting events. Australia’s High Commissioner to India, Philip Green, said the two countries could forge a “genuine partnership” in sports. “Australia will host the 2032 Olympics, and India has shown interest in the Olympics, Commonwealth Games and Asian Games.

Green pointed to Australia’s proven record, having hosted the Olympics in 1956 (Melbourne) and 2000 (Sydney), along with multiple Commonwealth Games. He said Australia’s know-how in stadium construction, marketing, security, ticketing and event management could help India strengthen its case for 2036.

Highlighting existing collaboration, he cited the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, designed by an Australian firm, as proof of what both countries can achieve together.

With India preparing to bid for the 2036 Games, Australia’s support underlines a growing sports partnership between two cricketing powerhouses now looking to expand their influence on the Olympic stage.
