‘Secret Superstar’ star Zaira Wasim has announced her marriage, sharing intimate moments from her nikaah ceremony on social media.
The announcement came on Friday evening, with Zaira posting two photographs accompanied by the understated caption, “Qubool hai x3.”, which has garnered warm wishes from fans, marking her first major public update in years.
In the first image, Zaira is seen signing her nikaah nama (marriage contract) adorned with intricate mehendi and a statement emerald ring. The second photo captures the couple under the night sky, with Zaira in a deep red dupatta and her husband in a cream sherwani, highlighting the simplicity and intimacy of the ceremony.
Zaira first rose to national fame at the age of 16 with her role in ‘Dangal’, earning the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress, and later won acclaim for ‘Secret Superstar’. Despite her early success, she chose to leave the film industry in 2019, citing religious reasons. In a statement at the time, she explained that while the industry brought love and support, it also led her “to a path of ignorance” and interfered with her relationship with her faith.
Since stepping away from Bollywood, Zaira has maintained a low profile, primarily sharing messages about faith on social media. Her wedding announcement comes after years without major personal updates and has been warmly celebrated by fans.
The caption “Qubool hai x3” reflects the traditional words spoken during a Muslim marriage ceremony, signifying acceptance. The simplicity and sincerity of the post have resonated with her audience, making it a cherished and heartfelt moment.
