Pakistan on ‘Full Alert’, Defence Minister Warns War With India ‘Cannot Be Ruled Out’
Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Tuesday warned that the country cannot discount the possibility of an “all-out war” with India, saying Islamabad remains on “full alert” amid escalating regional tensions. Speaking to Samaa TV, Asif said, “We are neither ignoring India nor trusting it. Based on my analysis, I cannot rule out an all-out war or any hostile strategy, including border incursions or attacks. We must stay fully alert.”
His remarks follow heightened rhetoric from both sides, including Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi calling Operation Sindoor an “88-hour trailer,” signalling readiness to respond decisively if provoked. Asif also alleged India’s involvement in attacks from Afghan territory, warning that Pakistan could face a two-front conflict. He accused India of using Afghanistan to fuel instability, calling Kabul’s actions a “proxy war for Delhi.”
These statements come amid ongoing Pakistan-Afghanistan tensions, following cross-border clashes earlier this year that were temporarily resolved through a ceasefire brokered by Turkey and Qatar.
