US Vice President JD Vance faced repeated heckling from anti-war protesters during a Turning Point USA event at the University of Georgia, as his speech was interrupted multiple times over Washington’s stance on the Gaza conflict.

The disruption began when a protester shouted, “Jesus doesn’t support genocide!” Others followed with chants of “You’re killing children” and “Jesus Christ does not support genocide,” accusing the administration of backing Israel’s war in Gaza.

Vance Pushes Back

Responding to the protests, Vance said, “I agree Jesus Christ does not support genocide… I think that’s a pretty easy principle.” As interruptions continued, he addressed claims that the administration supported violence in Gaza, arguing that the humanitarian situation had worsened before their tenure.

Vance credited Donald Trump for efforts to stabilise the region, saying, “Who’s the person who got a peace agreement in Gaza? Donald J. Trump.” When another protester shouted, “You’re killing children,” Vance pointed to increased aid flows into Gaza, stating that more humanitarian assistance was now reaching the region than in recent years.

The confrontation comes amid heightened tensions over the Gaza war and follows recent controversy surrounding Trump’s remarks directed at Pope Leo XIV over the broader Middle East conflict.
