The family of a 28-year-old Telangana native who was shot dead in Philadelphia believes he may have been lured into a deadly trap through a fake pizza delivery request.

The victim, Anshul Kuncha, had been residing in the United States for nearly four years and was working in the corporate sector while also taking up part-time food delivery work on weekends.

According to reports, Anshul was assigned a pizza delivery on Saturday night and travelled to the specified address. Upon reaching the location, he was allegedly shot multiple times by an unidentified assailant, who fled immediately after the attack. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

The case has raised questions because Anshul’s valuables were reportedly left untouched. Family members say his phone, wallet and other belongings were not taken, leading them to suspect that robbery was not the motive behind the killing. They have pointed to reports suggesting that suspicious individuals were seen near the scene shortly before the shooting.

Relatives believe the delivery order itself may have been fabricated to draw Anshul to a secluded spot. His sister said the family was informed that there was no legitimate customer waiting at the address and alleged that the delivery request was created solely to target him.

Seeking swift action, the family has urged authorities to expedite the repatriation of his mortal remains to India and ensure a thorough investigation into the crime. They say they do not know who may have wanted to harm him but are demanding that those responsible be identified and prosecuted.

The Indian Consulate in New York has acknowledged the incident and said it is in touch with the family while coordinating with local authorities. The mission has assured all possible assistance during the ongoing investigation and repatriation process.
