Asian Para Games Champion Sheetal Devi Adds Academic Success to Her Growing List of Achievements
Indian para-archer Sheetal Devi continues to make headlines with her achievements both in sports and academics. Fresh from a spectacular campaign at the Asian Para Games in Nagoya, the 19-year-old has now cleared another important milestone by passing her Class 12 examinations.
Sheetal shared the happy news with her followers through an Instagram story, announcing that her results were out and she had successfully completed Class 12.
“Meanwhile, results are out! Officially a 12th pass,” she wrote.
The achievement comes shortly after her outstanding performance at the Asian Para Games, where she claimed two gold medals and a silver, while also equalling a world record and establishing a new one. Her success in the classroom has added another proud moment to her inspiring journey.
A Golden Campaign at the Asian Para Games
Sheetal was in exceptional form in Nagoya on October 22, winning two gold medals within a span of less than two hours. Her victories took her total medal count at the Games to three.
She first joined forces with Toman Kumar to win the compound mixed team title before turning her attention to the individual event at Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park Multipurpose Square.
In the individual final, Sheetal faced Singapore’s Alim in a challenging contest. The Indian archer fell four points behind during the opening two ends, leaving her with a significant deficit to overcome.
However, the reigning world champion responded brilliantly under pressure. She produced six 10-point shots, including three Xs, over the following two ends to reverse the momentum and establish a two-point lead ahead of the final three arrows.
Sheetal then kept her nerves under control, scoring 27 points with three successive 9s in the closing stage. Alim managed 26 points after shooting a 9, an 8 and another 9, handing the Indian star another memorable victory.
Her performance highlighted her composure, precision and ability to deliver when the stakes are high.
