Vijender Gupta on Tuesday received a bomb threat email warning that the Delhi Assembly and the Vidhan Sabha metro station would be “blown up,” triggering a security alert.
Police teams carried out thorough checks at the Assembly premises, but no suspicious items were found so far. Security has since been tightened in and around the complex.
According to reports, the email also mentioned threats to several senior leaders, including Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and S. Jaishankar, though the authenticity of these claims has not been independently verified.
The incident is part of a recent spate of hoax bomb threats in Delhi. Earlier this month, multiple schools and bank branches received similar emails, leading to evacuations and searches, all of which turned out to be false alarms.
