Cocktail 2 Box Office Day 3: Shahid Kapoor-Kriti Sanon Film Maintains Momentum, Crosses Rs 47 Crore

Cocktail 2 continued its steady run at the box office over the opening weekend, registering modest growth on Sunday and pushing its domestic collection past the Rs 47-crore mark. Starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna, the romantic drama has shown consistent performance since its release, benefiting from positive audience reception and weekend footfall.

According to early estimates from Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 17.75 crore on its third day, improving on Saturday’s Rs 16.25 crore and Friday’s opening collection of Rs 13.50 crore. With this, the film’s total India net collection stands at Rs 47.50 crore, while its worldwide gross has crossed Rs 55 crore.

The film has already surpassed the lifetime domestic collection of Shahid Kapoor’s earlier 2025 release Deva, which concluded its theatrical run at Rs 34.37 crore. However, it still trails the box-office performance of the original Cocktail (2012), which earned around Rs 71 crore during its theatrical run.

Trade analysts view the film’s weekend trend as a positive sign, with collections rising steadily rather than relying solely on opening-day hype. The consistent growth suggests encouraging word-of-mouth among audiences.

Directed by Homi Adajania, Cocktail 2 explores modern relationships, commitment issues and emotional complications. The story revolves around Kunal (Shahid Kapoor) and Diya (Rashmika Mandanna), a long-time couple navigating uncertainty about marriage. Their relationship faces an unexpected test when Diya’s friend Ally (Kriti Sanon) joins them during a trip to Sicily.

As insecurities begin to surface, Diya asks Ally to gauge Kunal’s feelings by getting close to him, triggering a chain of events that complicates all three lives and sets the stage for the film’s emotional conflict.

Produced by Dinesh Vijan, Luv Ranjan, Pramita R. Vijan and Ankur Garg, the film features music by Pritam and lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya. While carrying the Cocktail title, the film serves as a standalone sequel rather than a continuation of the 2012 hit that starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty.

Speaking about the film, Kriti Sanon said its core message resonates strongly with today’s generation. She noted that the story addresses modern-day relationships, commitment concerns and situationships, themes that many young audiences can relate to, while ultimately delivering an emotionally grounded message.
