The Iranian government has called on civilians — including youth, artists and athletes — to form human chains around power plants nationwide on April 7, in a bid to deter potential US strikes on public infrastructure.
Announcing the move, Alireza Rahimi said the initiative was meant to send a clear message: “We will stand hand in hand to say: Attacking public infrastructure is a war crime.”
The appeal follows a warning from US President Donald Trump, who threatened to target infrastructure such as bridges and power facilities if the conflict-hit Strait of Hormuz is not fully reopened by Washington’s stated deadline.
