The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested 10 people so far in connection with the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak, as investigators continue tracing how the question paper was leaked and identifying those involved in the network.
Among those arrested are retired chemistry lecturer PV Kulkarni and senior Botany teacher Manisha Gurunath Mandhare, both from Pune, whom investigators have described as key masterminds in the case. Authorities allege the two had access to sensitive examination material through their association with the National Testing Agency and shared questions and answers during special coaching sessions.
The latest arrest is Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar, founder of the Renukai Career Centre coaching network in Latur. Investigators allege he was part of an organised syndicate involved in leaking the NEET paper and claim the question paper was found on his mobile phone days before the examination.
Other arrests include Pune-based facilitator Manisha Waghmare, Maharashtra residents Dhananjay Lokhande and Shubham Khairnar, Haryana-based accused Yash Yadav, and Jaipur residents Dinesh Biwal, Mangilal Biwal and Vikas Biwal.
Investigators suspect the leaked paper was circulated through a network spanning Maharashtra, Haryana and Rajasthan, with question papers allegedly shared electronically and sold to students and parents for large sums of money.
