Ranveer Singh may be riding high on the success of Dhurandhar and its sequel, but the actor has quietly stepped away from the spotlight — and for a very personal reason.
While fans are waiting for updates on his next film Pralay, Ranveer is reportedly taking a deliberate break to spend time with his daughter Dua, as Deepika Padukone continues shooting for King.
Choosing family over frenzy
Sources close to the production reveal that the couple is balancing work and family with a clear understanding. With Deepika currently filming in South Africa, Ranveer has taken on a more hands-on role at home.
“He’s fully present right now,” a source said. “While Deepika is on set, Ranveer is spending quality time with Dua. It’s a conscious decision to slow down, even when everything professionally is going so well.”
The past year — marked by Deepika, Dua, and Dhurandhar — is said to have been a turning point for the actor, prompting him to prioritise family over constant public visibility.
Deepika back on set during pregnancy
Meanwhile, Deepika has resumed work during her pregnancy and is shooting alongside Shah Rukh Khan in South Africa. Glimpses from the sets of King have surfaced online, quickly going viral.
In one clip, the two actors are seen filming a romantic sequence by the beach at sunset — Deepika in a white outfit and Shah Rukh in a striped shirt. Earlier visuals also showed them walking hand in hand, hinting at a song or emotional scene.
Though the makers haven’t officially revealed details, the scale and setting suggest a visually rich sequence.
The film stars Shah Rukh Khan as a seasoned assassin, with his daughter Suhana Khan playing his protégé. The ensemble cast includes Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Jackie Shroff, Raghav Juyal and Abhay Verma. Backed by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, it is slated for release on December 24, 2026.
What lies ahead
As for Pralay, the project is expected to explore a post-apocalyptic Mumbai with heavy use of advanced visual effects. Directed by Jai Mehta and produced by Hansal Mehta along with Applause Entertainment, it marks a fresh creative space for Ranveer.
For now, though, the actor seems in no rush. At a time when his career is soaring, Ranveer Singh is choosing to slow down — focusing on moments that don’t make headlines, but matter the most.
