Saurav Das Responds After Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Useless’ Remark, Questions Her Political Credibility

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) spokesperson Saurav Das has responded to BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut after she called him “useless” in a series of Instagram posts, saying she is “not taken seriously” even within her own party. In an interview with The Indian Express, Das dismissed Ranaut’s criticism and questioned her influence in politics.

“Kangana Ranaut is not taken seriously by her own party. So why should we take her seriously? I don’t think anyone in Gen Z, or in Gen Alpha, or any younger generation takes her seriously or listens to her,” he said. Das also referred to an earlier statement by Ranaut about her experience as a first-time Member of Parliament, claiming it reflected her approach to public office.

“She is a politician. There were some videos of her when she visited Himachal Pradesh. She said, ‘I thought I would have to work a little. Here you have to work a lot as an MP.’ So this shows her seriousness,” he said. He further criticized the language used by Ranaut in her social media posts, arguing that public representatives should be mindful of their words.

“The wording is not right. Politicians should take responsibility for the wording. Politicians should uphold the dignity of their position,” Das said. Responding to Ranaut’s criticism of Gen Z, Das said younger generations have played a significant role in strengthening democratic participation.

“Many times more than you, Gen Z has done for this country. Gen Z has done the work of reawakening trust in this country’s democracy. You haven’t done it,” he added.

Kangana’s Earlier Remarks

The exchange began after Ranaut shared a lengthy Instagram Story targeting Das, questioning how the 28-year-old identifies himself as a student while defending her own achievements in films and politics. She said she had already won two National Film Awards by Das’ age and had spent two decades in public life before entering politics. Ranaut also said that managing her responsibilities as an MP alongside her work as a filmmaker, actor, producer, screenwriter and entrepreneur was challenging.

Calling Das “totally useless and unemployed,” she suggested he should “learn some skill” before commenting on others. The public spat between Ranaut and Das has intensified in recent days, with both exchanging sharp remarks through interviews and social media posts.
