Petrol, Diesel and CNG Prices Today: Check Latest Rates Across Cities on June 21

Petrol, diesel and CNG prices remained unchanged across the country on Sunday, June 21, 2026, even as global crude oil markets continued to react to geopolitical developments in West Asia.

Fuel retailers revise prices daily at 6 am, but no fresh changes were announced by oil marketing companies (OMCs) or city gas distributors. The pause comes after a series of increases in recent weeks, during which petrol and diesel prices rose by nearly Rs 7.5 per litre amid elevated crude oil costs triggered by the West Asia conflict.

Crude Oil Holds Near $80 Per Barrel

Global oil prices remained around the $80-per-barrel mark after reports indicated that the United States and Iran had digitally signed an interim peace agreement, raising hopes of improved energy supplies and easing concerns over prolonged disruptions in global markets.

The development has helped stabilise crude prices after months of volatility that pushed fuel costs higher across several countries, including India.

Export Duty on Diesel and ATF Raised

In its latest fortnightly review, the government increased export duties on diesel and aviation turbine fuel (ATF) while leaving the levy on petrol exports unchanged.

For the fortnight beginning June 16:

Export duty on diesel has been increased to Rs 14 per litre from Rs 13.5 per litre.
Export duty on ATF has been raised to Rs 12.5 per litre from Rs 9.5 per litre.
Export duty on petrol remains unchanged at Rs 1.5 per litre.

The move is aimed at ensuring adequate domestic fuel availability while balancing international demand.

LPG Prices Continue Upward Trend

Domestic LPG consumers have also felt the impact of rising energy costs.

Effective June 7, the price of a standard 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder was increased by Rs 29, marking the second hike in the past three months. In Delhi, the cost of a domestic cylinder now stands at Rs 942, up from Rs 913.

Commercial LPG users have seen an even sharper rise. From June 1, the price of a 19-kg commercial cylinder in Delhi increased by Rs 42 to Rs 3,113.50.

City gas consumers have not been spared either.

In Mumbai, CNG prices were recently increased by Rs 2 per kilogram to Rs 86 per kg, marking the second hike within a month. Piped natural gas (PNG) supplied to households also became more expensive, with rates rising by 50 paise to Rs 52 per standard cubic metre (SCM).

Among major cities, Hyderabad continues to record the highest petrol prices, with fuel retailing at Rs 115.69 per litre.

Thiruvananthapuram follows closely, where petrol costs Rs 115.49 per litre.

At the other end of the spectrum, Chandigarh remains the cheapest among major cities, with petrol priced at Rs 98.10 per litre. New Delhi and Lucknow also continue to offer relatively lower rates compared to several metropolitan centres.

Chandigarh continues to offer the lowest diesel prices among major cities, with diesel retailing at Rs 86.09 per litre.
