AI Monitoring, 250 CCTV Cameras: Delhi Rolls Out High-Tech Security For INDIA Bloc Rally

Delhi Police have activated an extensive security network at Ramlila Maidan ahead of the INDIA bloc’s mega rally on November 1.

The high-security arrangement features up to 250 CCTV cameras, AI-powered surveillance, live monitoring facilities and dedicated emergency evacuation routes to manage the expected gathering. The Congress-led opposition alliance is holding the rally to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

With thousands of participants expected, police have begun deploying personnel and installing barricades, metal detectors and baggage-screening systems across the 12-acre venue. Security arrangements have been designed to monitor every major access point and prevent any untoward incident.

AI Cameras And 250 CCTV Units To Keep Watch
Delhi Police will install approximately 200-250 high-definition CCTV cameras across Ramlila Maidan and its surrounding areas. The surveillance network will cover entry and exit gates as well as other sensitive locations.

Live footage will be monitored through dedicated control rooms, enabling senior officers to track crowd movement and issue instructions to personnel on the ground.

In addition to CCTV surveillance, police personnel will wear body cameras, while AI-enabled cameras will assist with face scanning around the venue. A temporary control room will coordinate the entire monitoring operation.

3,500 Police Personnel, 14 Security Zones
The venue has been divided into 14 security zones, with each zone placed under the supervision of an Assistant Commissioner of Police-rank officer. These zones will be further organised into eight regions monitored by senior police officials.

Around 3,000-3,500 police personnel, supported by central armed police forces, are expected to oversee security arrangements. The police are preparing for an estimated crowd of nearly 50,000 people.

Ramlila Maidan has eight gates, but only three will be opened for public entry. Separate access points have been designated for VIPs and senior police officers.

Attendees will undergo two rounds of frisking before being allowed inside. Metal detectors and baggage-screening equipment will also be used to strengthen access control.

Dedicated Evacuation Routes And Crowd Control
Special arrangements have been made to facilitate the evacuation of participants in case of an emergency. A designated gate will be kept available for safe movement, while police teams will monitor crowd activity to prevent unauthorised marches towards other parts of Delhi.

The organisers have also been instructed to deploy sufficient volunteers and arrange drinking water and separate toilet facilities for women. Parking arrangements must be coordinated with traffic police.

Additionally, authorities have sought details of invitees, volunteers and buses transporting participants to ensure better coordination and traffic management.

Police Set Strict Timings For November 1 Rally
The rally will take place between 10 am and 5 pm. Delhi Police have directed the organisers to ensure that the gathering concludes within the authorised timeframe.

Overnight stays at the venue will not be permitted.
With extensive CCTV coverage, AI-assisted monitoring, multiple security checkpoints and thousands of personnel on duty, Delhi Police are leaving little to chance as the national capital prepares for the INDIA bloc’s major political gathering.
