PM Modi Greets Bahrain King on Eid, Condemns Attacks on Energy and Civilian Infrastructure

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended warm Eid al-Fitr greetings to King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa and the people of Bahrain, while strongly condemning recent attacks on energy and civilian infrastructure in West Asia.

Posting on X after their telephonic conversation, PM Modi said, “Had a fruitful discussion with the King of Bahrain, His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa. Conveyed warm greetings on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr to him and the people of Bahrain.”

Discussion on regional situation

The leaders discussed ongoing tensions in the region, expressing concern over their impact. PM Modi highlighted that attacks on energy and civilian infrastructure have serious global implications, particularly for food, fuel, and fertilizer security. He also stressed the importance of freedom of navigation and keeping shipping routes secure to maintain global trade and stability.

Support for Indian community

PM Modi thanked the Bahraini king for his continued support for the Indian community living in Bahrain, reflecting India’s ongoing diplomatic engagement amid rising regional tensions.

This was the second call between PM Modi and the Bahrain king since the conflict escalated following US and Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28, which were later met with retaliatory attacks targeting Gulf countries.

Since the escalation, PM Modi has also spoken with leaders from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, UAE, France, Malaysia, Israel, and Iran, emphasizing the need for dialogue, stability, and active engagement with all parties to manage the situation.
