The makers of Prabhas and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit have clarified the film’s release plans, putting to rest recent reports that it had been postponed to avoid a clash with Salman Khan’s SVC63.
Salman Khan announced in April that his upcoming film SVC63, featuring Nayanthara and directed by Vamshi Paidipally, will release during Eid 2027. Spirit was also initially linked to the same festive window, sparking speculation that the two big-ticket projects could face a box office clash.
Recent reports claimed that Spirit had subsequently been pushed to another date. However, T-Series has now dismissed the reports, confirming that the Prabhas starrer is scheduled to release on March 5, 2027.
Spirit To Release On March 5, 2027
A T-Series spokesperson told Zoom that Spirit remains on schedule and there has been no change to its release date.
“We are very much on track with the release of Spirit,” the spokesperson said, adding that the film is slated to arrive worldwide on March 5, 2027. The makers are continuing work on the project as planned.
This is the second time T-Series has rejected speculation about Spirit’s postponement. Similar reports emerged in May, prompting the production house to confirm that the film’s release schedule had not changed.
With Spirit now set for March 5, 2027, it will not clash with Salman Khan’s SVC63 during Eid.
Prabhas’ Spirit: Cast And First Look
Spirit marks Prabhas’ first collaboration with Sandeep Reddy Vanga and is one of the most anticipated upcoming projects in Indian cinema.
Deepika Padukone was initially reported to be part of the film but later exited following failed negotiations. Triptii Dimri subsequently joined the cast as the female lead, marking her Telugu debut.
The film also stars Vivek Oberoi, Prakash Raj and Kanchana. Its first-look poster, unveiled on New Year 2026, featured a battered and wounded Prabhas with his back covered in stitches and bandages, while Triptii Dimri was seen lighting his cigarette. The unusual visual quickly sparked widespread discussion on social media.
